November 11, 2022 – OLB annually partners with Bottoms Up Diaper Bank to collect and distribute diapers, pull-ups and wipes to central Ohio families in need. OLB Kindergarten students loaded the Bottoms Up van with 6,220 diapers, the most ever collected in our annual diaper drive. Since 2019, OLB has collected and donated 13,456 diapers to Bottoms Up. Kindergarten student Austin H. said it simply, “it felt good to help babies that didn’t have any diapers”.
OCTOBER, 2021 – OLB families, students and staff partnered with Bottoms Up Diaper Drive as their fall service project. This is OLB’s third year supporting an organization that distributes diapers and pull-ups to babies in need. This year OLB collected nearly 4,900 diapers and pull-ups that will support over 160 babies! Supporting local organizations like the Bottoms Up Diaper drive is something our students, families and staff can relate so closely with.
APRIL 2021- Kindergarten students at Our Lady of Bethlehem School and Childcare (OLB) assembled 120 Blessing Bags for the Holy Family Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry. Supplies such as lip balm, sunscreen, socks and toothpaste were donated by OLB’s families, staff and Board of Trustees members. Providing these Blessing Bags to Holy Family is the perfect opportunity to teach our young students the importance of giving to others.
NOVEMBER, 2020 – Our Lady of Bethlehem School and Childcare (OLB) partnered with Bottoms Up Diaper Drive as their fall service project. Bottoms Up Diaper Drive collects and distributes diapers and wipes for families in need in Central Ohio. Our little OLBer’s and their families can relate to the basic need for diapers which is why OLB is proud to be apart of the drive for a second year. In a combined effort, OLB was able to collect 4,001 diapers/pull-ups that will make a big impact to a local family.
FEBRUARY, 2020 – Mass at Our Lady of Bethlehem School and Childcare (OLB) was extra special on February 12, 2020. Students and staff presented Father Gwinner of St. Paul’s in Westerville, who also celebrates Mass at OLB, with a check for $250 raised from the students’ Chick-fil-A day fundraiser as part of “Celebrating Vocations” during Catholic Schools Week. “I am so grateful. No one has ever done this for me,” Father Gwinner said as he accepted the check. The donation will support a family for an entire year in his “Impact” mission which is part of the international non-profit, Unbound.
NOVEMBER, 2019 – Our Lady of Bethlehem School and Childcare (OLB) partnered with Bottoms Up Diaper Drive as their fall service project. Bottoms Up Diaper Drive collects and distributes diapers and wipes for families in need in Central Ohio and is partnered with 25 food pantries and childcare centers. The basic need for diapers is a circumstance that OLB’s young students and families can relate to. In a combined effort, OLB is able to make a difference by collecting 4,561 diapers! Even the smallest students can make a big impact.
APRIL, 2017 – Students at Our Lady of Bethlehem School and Childcare, Columbus, prepared their hearts and minds for Christ’s selfless gift of love this Lenten season by providing Easter baskets for The Run the Race Club (brianmuhafoundation.org).
Students, families and staff collected baskets, pails, Peeps, jelly beans, granola bars, plastic eggs and bagged chocolate candy and then assembled 150 Easter baskets for Run the Race members in grades K-12. Students created crosses to include in the baskets and further spread God’s message of hope. The OLB community also held two Lenten Lunches with over $150 in proceeds benefiting The Run the Race Club.
Easter baskets were finished and delivered to the Racers on Monday 4/10 just in time for Holy Week and the celebration of Easter!
